What to expect on your first visit:
Prior to your appointment…
New patient paperwork may be printed and filled out prior to your appointment. Please follow the links below to download the pertinent forms. We ask our new patients to arrive 15 minutes early to their appointment in order to complete additional paperwork that our staff will provide you with. Please plan for 45-60 minutes in our office for the first visit.
Consultation
Once the paperwork has been completed you will have a consultation with the doctor to discuss your health conditions, concerns, and health history. The purpose of your consultation is also to talk about your health goals and see if chiropractic is likely to help you.
History & Exam
In order to determine the nature of your condition the doctor will ask you various questions related to your health history and current symptoms. A comprehensive orthopedic, neurological, and structural evaluation will follow paying particular attention to the spine. A number of specialized tests will be performed to determine which tissues are affected and to what extent. Sometimes this exam reveals symptoms that in the doctor’s judgment warrant a referral to another specialist for additional evaluation or for diagnostic imaging to be taken.
Report of Findings
After the examination process we will provide you with a report of findings. This essentially is a clear explanation of your specific case, condition, and prognosis. At this time we will discuss if you are a candidate for chiropractic care. We recognize the value and responsibility of working in cooperation with other health care practitioners when in the best interest of the patient, and will thus make appropriate referrals as needed. During this visit we will also outline a course of care and explain individualized potential treatment options for you.
